The Peugeot 5008 is an all new spacious but compact MPV offering extreme levels of comfort and exceptional safety features. The safely related items range from ESP, six air bags (including head and curtain air bags, fasten seat belt warnings on all seats, tyre under-inflation detection and  automatic electric parking brake with  a hill assist' function.

That is why the Peugeot 5008 has been accredited with a Euro NCAP five star rating which is no mean feat under the stringent 2009 worldwide ratinging.  

 Why Alan Milne admires the Peugeot 5008

The Peugeot 5008 is a great road handling vehicle and it is so easy to drive. This is why we admire it so much. The driver benefits are endless but the excellent road visibility thanks to a heightened driving position and the large front windscreen makes the visibility so much better than the competition.  

The panoramic glass roof which comes standard on an Exclusive model creates a bright light interior and contributes to the feeling of space and freedom. Leg room is also very generous as is the headroom. Tall passengers can be accommodated without any difficulty which is not always the case.

The identical flexible middle row seating can be reclined, moved forwards and backwards to suit the passenger. The front passenger seat can also be adjusted into a flat surface, giving a possible load length of just under 2.8m. We also love the easy access offered for the third row of full size seats, which also fold flat into the rear floor.

8We have so many options, too many to mention. The innovation and technology available on the Peugeot 5008 is endless.

Head-Up Display – This feature allows the driver to view essential driving information as if it was projected onto the windscreen thanks to a translucent screen which extends from the top of the dashboard. (speed, cruise control/speed limiter and distance alert)  This fighter pilot feature on this level of MPV, enables the driver to focus on the road conditions and ahead, at all times. 

Distance Alert - this feature works like a bat detects distance. The distance alert works from a radar located behind the lower front bumper which transmits against the vehicle ahead of the Peugeot 5008. In a few seconds it computes to the head-up display the information. By setting the system to maintain a certain distance in seconds behind the car in front, an automatic warning advises when the driver gets too close.  

Distance alert complements the Peugeot 5008's speed limiter and cruise control safety features. 

Head/Curtain Air Bags. These cover all three rows of seats on seven seat versions of the Peugeot 5008.

Snow Motion - adds to the automatic function to the traditional traction control system. This allows the driver to move off and make gradual but effective progress on icy or snow-covered roads. 

Multimedia System - the second row passengers can enjoy an integrated multimedia system consisting of two 7'' colour screens located in the back of the front seat head rests. A connection console enables the connection of different types of mobile audio/video equipment and two Bluetooth wireless headsets.

Utilising the third row of seats will inevitably shrink the boot, but stow them away and there's plenty of room to play with. Lowering all the seats reveals a van-like load space”

Looking after your carbon footprint

The Peugeot 5008 is equipped with the 1.6 HDi diesel FAP 110 bhp engine. This is electronically controlled by a 6-speed gearbox returns 54.3 mpg (combined) and CO2 emissions of 135 g/km.

That all models in the Peugeot 5008 range are superbly equipped. We find it very hard to single one out. After much debate, we would opt for the Peugeot 5008 Sport. It has 17" alloy wheels, aluminium interior trim, cruise control with speed limiter, lighting pack with removable torch, under seat and footwell storage compartments, and colour coded exterior and front fog lights.
